What to Look Forward to On Streaming This Week (September 25 -October 1, 2022)
The final week in September is the quietest week of all on streaming, perhaps because the week also ushers in the return of a number of broadcast series. Here we’ll be focused on streaming only:
Reasonable Doubt (September 27, Hulu) – Season 1 Premiere
Jax Stewart (played by Emayatzy Corinealdi) is a brilliant, ethically questionable lawyer who you want on your defense when you’ve been accused of a crime. The series is executive produced by Kerry Washington.
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers (September 28, Disney+) – Season 2 Premiere
The team has finally won back the name “The Ducks” and now they are headed to a summer training camp to focus on their skills, sans Gordon Bombay (due to Emilio Estevez leaving the series, though whether due to creative differences or COVID protocols remains up for speculation). The team will instead contend with former NHL-player turned coach, Colin Cole.
Hocus Pocus 2 (September 30, Disney+) – Movie
The witches are back! Twenty-nine years after Max unwittingly little the Black Flame Candle, three high school students accidentally summon the Sanderson Sisters to modern day Salem. Together, they must figure out how to stop the sister from their usual mayhem.
Who isn’t excited for the long awaited return of the Sanderson sisters? Hocus Pocus brings back the first movie’s original witches, played by Kathy Najimy, Bette Midler, and Sarah Jessica Parker for another round of feasting on children.
