New and Returning Series and Movies This Week: December 11 – December 17, 2022
Perhaps the quietest week in a long time, there is not much to coming out this week:
Kindred (December 13, FX/Hulu) – Season 1
Based on the novel by Octavia E. Butler, this series follows Dana as she is pulled back in time to a nineteenth century plantation that allows her to discover her family’s long-buried secrets.
National Treasure: Edge of History (December 14, Disney+) – Season 1
Jess Valenzuela follows a centuries-old clue to learn the truth about her long-dead father. Together with her friends, she follows a series of clues hidden in American artifacts and landmarks.
Sonic Prime (December 15, Netflix) – Season 1
When Dr. Eggman shatters the universe, Sonic must travel through the Shatter-verse to defeat the Chaos Council.
The Recruit (December 16, Netflix) – Season 1
A lawyer new to the CIA must help exonerate a former asset before she exposes her relationship to the agency.
It has been a while since we’ve had a good action-packed adventure series with a historical twist (Blood and Treasure is the closest thing that comes to mind but I didn’t find myself connecting with that series) so hopefully this series can capture the sense of endless wonder that these types of series tend to evoke.
