New and Returning Series and Movies This Week: November 6 – November 12, 2022
In addition to the premieres of a several new shows, there are some long-awaited series returning this week, from The Crown to Warrior Nun to Mythic Quest:
The Crown (November 9, Netflix) – Season 5
Chronicling the life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s to modern times, this season will touch on the end of Princess Diana’s life, among other major events in the 1990s.
Zootopia+ (November 9, Disney+) – Season 1
If you have wished for a chance to revisit Zootopia where prey and predator live together in a mammal metropolis, you’re in luck (or more likely your kids are)! This series will be set during the events of the movie.
The Big Brunch (November 10, HBO Max) – Season 1
Ten chefs compete in one of the few unexplored areas of food competition shows: brunch.
The Calling (November 10, Peacock) – Season 1
Guided by his religious and spiritual beliefs, NYPD Detective Avraham Avraham is particularly skilled at uncovering the truth when a case goes sideways and causes him to question everything.
Warrior Nun (November 10, Netflix) – Season 2
This long-awaited second season follows Ava and her continued fight against evil. In season one, Ava woke up in the morgue with inexplicable abilities.
The English (November 11, Prime Video) – Season 1
Emily Blunt in a western. Enough said. But if you want more, Emily Blunt plays an Englishwoman in 1890 who connects with Eli Whipp, a member of the Pawnee Nation and an ex-cavalry scout and journey together through dangerous parts of the country.
Mythic Quest (November 11, AppleTV+) – Season 3
Behind the scenes of an imaginary popular video game are a lot of big, arrogant egos. This season we will be watching dysfunctional duo Ian and Poppy as they attempt to create a new video game.
Transformers: Earthspark (November 11, Paramount+) – Season 1
There’s a new generation of Transformers. Known as Terrans, they are the first generation born on Earth and will form a unique family with the humans who care for them.
I have a soft spot for Mythic Quest. It’s no The Guild (find that web series from Felicia Day if you haven’t watched it already) but it feels reminiscent enough. We get to see all areas and jobs represented in the video game-making process, from creators to graphic designers to game testers.
