New Content Coming to Disney+ in June 2022

In addition to its series premieres, new movies, and specials, Disney+ is bringing in some more-adult, but still family-friendly content.

June 1

  • A Fan’s Guide to Ms. Marvel (Special) — An exclusive look behind-the-scenes of the upcoming Marvel series, Ms. Marvel.
  • Club Mickey Mouse (Season 4) — Dancing, singing, and fun with the mouseketeers.
  • Glee (Seasons 1-6) — The full series of Fox’s musical series following a high school glee club made up of a mix of kids from the cheerleaders and football players to the loners and nerds. The storytelling in this series is questionable but the talent is not. Years later, there are still several Glee arrangements that I’m still singing.
  • Mickey Mouse Funhouse (Season 1, 5 Episodes) — Funny, an enchanted, talking playhouse transports Mickey and friends to a variety of locations.

June 3

  • Mack Wrestles (Short) — Based on the true story of Mack Beggs, a transgender high school wrestler from Euless, Texas, who was forced to compete in the female division despite identifying as male.
  • Hollywood Stargirl (Movie) — A sequel to the Disney+ original movie Stargirl (2020), Stargirl Caraway leaves Mica, Arizona and moves to Los Angeles, where she continues her musical journey.

June 8

  • Ms. Marvel (Season 1) — A Pakistani-American teenager who loves superheroes and feels like she doesn’t fit in, until she gets superpowers, changing her life. Having read a few Ms. Marvel comics, I’m excited to see how Marvel brings this character to life.
  • Baymax Dreams (Shorts) (Seasons 1-2) — A series of shorts following the dreams of robot healer Baymax.
  • Incredible Dr. Pol (Season 20, 12 Episodes) — A reality series following veterinarian Dr. Jan Pol, his family, and employees as they run his veterinary practice in Michigan.
  • Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion (Season 1, 10 Episodes) — A magical luchador mask chooses Mexican-American teen Violet Rodriguez, turning her into superhero crimefighter Ultra Violet. She fights alongside her luchador uncle, Cruz, Black Scorpion.

June 10

  • Beyond Infinity: Buzz and the Journey to Lightyear (Special) — Explores the evolution of Buzz Lightyear ahead of the upcoming movie, Lightyear.

June 15

  • Disney Junior Ready For Preschool (Shorts) (Season 3) — Disney characters present life lessons for children.
  • Family Reboot (Season 1) — A new reality series helping families reconnect through games, challenges, and conversation.

  • Life Below Zero: Next Generation (Season 3) — A National Geographic series about life in bitter cold Alaska.
  • Love, Victor (Seasons 1-3) — Half Puerto Rican, half Colombian-American teenager Victor’s coming out journey. This show was “too adult” for Disney+ when it first premiered but now that the streaming service is expanding its content, this series has founds its way to its originally intended location after all.
  • T.O.T.S. (Season 3, 12 Episodes) — The adventures of Pip, a penguin, and Freddy, a flamingo, who are the only non-stork delivery birds in-training at Tiny Ones Transport Service (T.O.T.S.).
  • The Wonder Years (Season 1, 10 Episodes) — The coming-of-age story of a 12-year-old Black boy Dean Williams in Montgomery, Alabama in the late 1960s.

June 17

  • Kings Ransom (Movie) — A documentary about Wayne Gretzky’s trade from the Edmonton Oilers to the Los Angeles Kings and how it changed the National Hockey League forever.
  • Big Shot (Season 2) — A men’s basketball coach accepts the position of girls’ high school basketball coach in an attempt to rehabilitate his image after he is fired for losing his temper. John Stamos is as charming as you’d expect in this sports series.

June 22

  • G.O.A.T. (Season 1) — Highlights viral videos from across the internet.
  • Villains of Valley View (Season 1, 5 Episodes) — Teenage supervillain Havoc and her villainous family must hide their identities and blend into a small Texan town after angering the League of Villains. What could be more fun that a superhero series? A supervillain series!

June 24

  • RISE (Movie) —  A Disney+ original movie based on the true story of three young Nigerian-Greek brothers, who emigrate to the United States and rise to fame and success as professional basketball players in the National Basketball Association. As a sucker for inspirational sports movies, count me in.
  • Trevor: The Musical (Movie) — Trevor: The Musical follows a charming 13-year-old on a journey of self discovery after an embarrassing incident at school. A filmed version of the off-Broadway stage production.

  • The Owl House (Season 2, 5 Episodes) — Magicless Luz pursues her dreams of becoming a witch by serving as the apprentice to Eda, a rebellious witch, and her tiny demon sidekick, King.
